Mount Airy · Monrovia · I-70 · 24/7
Mount Airy and Monrovia towing on I-70, to our western limit.
Heavy duty towing, semi recovery and mobile diesel repair on I-70 from Woodbine through Mount Airy to Monrovia (Exit 62, MD-75). Our coverage ends at Monrovia. We do not dispatch west of it.
Parr’s Ridge is where trucks give out
Mount Airy sits on top of Parr’s Ridge, and I-70 climbs to it from both sides. Westbound, loaded tractors pull a long grade out of Woodbine and Lisbon. Eastbound, they come down off the ridge with hot brakes. That makes this stretch hard on cooling systems, turbos, brakes and tires, and it is a common place for DPF derates when a regen cannot finish under load. Most of the shoulders are wide, but darkness, speed and heavy through-traffic make a fast, well-planned setup important.
Exits we cover
- Exit 73, MD-94 (Woodbine and Lisbon): rural interchange. Common calls are farm and contractor trucks and fuel gelling in cold weather.
- Exit 68, MD-27 (Ridge Road, Mount Airy): the top of the ridge. MD-27 runs north toward Westminster and south toward Damascus. Brake, coolant and turbo calls are typical here.
- Exit 62, MD-75 (Green Valley Road, Monrovia and New Market): our western limit. Monrovia sits on MD-75 just south of this exit.
If you are west of Exit 62, you are outside Priority’s coverage. If you are right at the edge and not sure, call (240) 780-8691 with your mile marker and direction, and dispatch will give you a clear yes or no.
Who rolls to Mount Airy
We have no office in Mount Airy or Monrovia. This stretch is covered from our Westminster office at 1718 Old Liberty Rd, a straight run down MD-27. It is also covered from the I-70 side by trucks working Howard County. GPS dispatch picks the closest truck. If a unit needs a shop, we tow it to our Randallstown diesel bay at 9325 Liberty Rd on the same ticket, or to your own dealer if you prefer.
What we do here
- Heavy duty towing and semi truck towing for loaded and empty tractor-trailers.
- Roadside repair by a mobile diesel mechanic with dealer-level diagnostics: derates, sensors, air leaks and no-starts.
- Landoll and RGN moves for disabled equipment.
- Recovery for trucks off the road on MD-27, MD-75 and the back roads around Green Valley and New Market.
Every job starts with a free quote. We accept EFS, ComChek and T-Check, so an out-of-state driver can pay on the spot. Our operators are Wreckmaster-certified, and Priority is licensed and insured.
Weather on the ridge
Parr’s Ridge is high enough that it can be icing near Mount Airy while it is only raining in Ellicott City. Fog also settles in the low ground around Monrovia and New Market. In winter we see tractors stuck on the grade, trailers off the shoulder and trucks that will not restart after a cold night at a truck stop or rest area. Tell dispatch about the conditions where you are, and we will set up for them before we arrive.
Mount Airy and Monrovia questions
Do you cover New Market and Green Valley?
Yes. Both are at the Exit 62 end of our coverage, along with Monrovia.
What should I tell dispatch?
Tell us your direction, the last exit or mile marker you passed, and whether you are in a lane or on the shoulder. Say whether the trailer is loaded and whether any lights or messages are showing on the dash. That is enough for us to send the right truck.
Are you open overnight?
Yes. Dispatch answers 24/7 at (240) 780-8691.
